Matt Russell is the CEO of the International Smart Tan Network, the North American indoor tanning industry's largest information and education provider. Matt is also the publisher of Smart Tan Magazine and has been involved with the indoor tanning industry since 1981.
 
     
Mike Blore - How to Prevent Being the Captain of a Sinking Ship.
Michael has 14 years in the advertising and marketing field. With his specialty in print and graphic media he understands the value of presentation, application and implementation. In 1993 he and his wife Ashleigh opened their first tanning salon as an additional investment & side business. They soon learned that combined with their advertising and marketing background this could prove to be a highly profitable business. In 1997 they sold their ad firm and focused on growing their retail business of tanning salons. They soon had multiple locations, however the technology supporting this business was not what they were accustomed to. In 1996 he and his wife Ashleigh again embarked on developing software that could support their growing chain of stores. In 2000 this software was purchased by ETS, now known as New Sunshine.

Today, Michael focuses on their 25 locations in addition to finding new locations and improving the operation and profitability of their existing salons. "We are not interested in how many stores we have but rather, how profitable the ones we have are. Therefore, our goal will never to be the largest but rather simply the most profitable".
