2010 Program Summary
Australian Gold/Designer Skin/California Tan
Why should I have upgrade beds?
Upgrade beds allow you to get more dollars per customer. These beds have more lamps and or increased UV integration thus far allowing the tanner to achieve better quicker tanning results.
How many upgrade beds should I have?
The amount of upgrade beds will vary depending on your marketing program. If you offer club memberships you should have at least 50% upgrade beds. This lets you up-sell and allows you to use the upgrade beds to sell everything that you offer in your salon. Perceived value marketing.
What determines an upgrade bed?
Any bed that has a greater number of lamps than your base or entry-level bed is considered an upgrade bed for your location. You may have 24 lamp beds as your base beds and 32-lamp bed with facial could be your super. In another scenario the 32 with facial could be your base bed and a 60 lamp with 4 facial could be your super or upgrade bed. Any combination will work and even up to 5 different levels will work. It is just marketing to offer many upgrades to increase customers tanning ability and your bottom line.
What upgrade unit should I purchase?
An upgrade bed should be a unit that has a good integration of UV that you can consider a tan enhancing unit of booster bed.
A bed that will show results and give a long lasting tan. The more lamps and bell and whistles will determine the price you can charge but remember price it high and use it to sell every service and retail item in your store.
Should I give away sessions in my super beds to get it going?
Lets call them bonus sessions and yes give away a lot of them. A session that is worth $20.00 but cost you 85 cents for electrical consumption and lamp replacement per session holds a lot of perceived value so if you give away a 20 dollar bonus session instead of a discount to buy a bottle of lotion. It is a great deal for both the customer and the salon owner. A 20 % discount off the lotion would have been $4.00.A super bed could boost lotion sales immediately if you use the upgrade to sell them. Your services hold the lease expensive cost of anything in your salon but hold the most perceived value.
How do I determine my electrical and lamp cost per session?
Call any of our representatives and they can give you the formulas to quickly figure your costs.
