With the month of February comes Valentine’s Day which can be super profitable for your salon. Four Seasons is bringing you a ton of ideas for in-store promos and displays.

PROMOTE: Promote your sales events and holiday promos across all platforms of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.) as well as text message and email blast programs. But don’t forget about advertising in your local newspapers, free papers, radio and television stations, and various bulletin boards in your community (especially if you’re located in a college town!).

FREE FLYERS & ADS: Ask your Account Manager for relevant ads and flyers for any of your upcoming promotions. FS has lots of marketing materials for salons to use. They are Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest-sized. They can be emailed too. We also have some fun memes for sunless and UV salons, both.

Groundhog Day – Feb 2nd
• Do a fun social media graphic to post BEFORE the groundhog does his thing. Ask clients if they think he will see his shadow or not. Everyone with the right answer goes into a drawing for a Valentine’s Day Gift Set.
• Based on if we have 6 more weeks of winter or not, you can do specials with either theme. “Depressed because the ground jog saw his shadow? Don’t be, we have summer all year round.” Or “Winter is leaving us early so let’s get you Spring/Summer ready with these specials on UV and Sunless.”

Super Bowl
• Do a football board in the salon. Everyone that makes a purchase gets to write their name on a square. “Spend $X get X squares!” Once the board is full, add the numbers in. The person that wins gets the ultimate tanning package/bundle/gift set. For more info and complete instructions and printables: click here.
• Have clients tag you on social media while at their watch parties.
• Do a fun poll on Facebook about who they think will win.
• Let your staff wear gear that weekend and have your own version of a Super Bowl party in the salon.

Valentine’s Day
• In 2019 – shoppers spent $20.7 billion. Average per person $161.96. Men spend twice as much as women. 52% of people ages 25 to 34 will celebrate Valentine’s Day. This age bracket also falls into the tanning demographic! *wink, wink*
• Decorate everything! We have ideas for you >>> click here to see!
• Some people may not get anything so be the stand out. Have chocolates put in the chairs or on a table in each room. Careful to make sure they don’t melt if your rooms are warm.
• Draw hearts on the mirrors in each room with dry erase markers or chalk markers.
• Create a beautiful display and use the theme, “Treat Yourself” - showcase, masks, facial care, moisturizers, sunless items and your highest retail UV lotion.
• Or run a promo themed: “We Love Our Customers” – with this theme you could have exciting specials, drawings, and gift sets available to purchase.
• Send paper valentine’s in the mail to customers, just thanking them, offer a special, or say you miss them, if they haven’t been in for some time.

National Wedding Month
• We have tons of items that would be perfect to put together in a bridal basket or bridal set. Bridal Wet Brushes, renewing eye strips for the crying, sunless mists for touch-ups, Shibue, makeup wipes for touch-up corrections, lipstick, eyeshadow pallet, CBD for the nerves, Invisibobble or Pink Pewter for up-dos and moisturizers.
• Have your clients getting married in February tell a story on why they should win your awesome bridal set.
• If you are doing the bridal party spray tans, be sure to post pics in their matching clothes, robes, etc. and make sure the bride sends you some pics to use from the wedding day.
• Create a bridal bundle with various services such as red light, spray, UV, hair, makeup, massage; combos of whatever services you offer.

National Prevent A Litter Month/ Spay & Neuter Awareness Month
• Partner with a local animal shelter to promote adoptions and raise awareness for the importance of getting your pets spayed and neutered.
• Contact your Account Manager for getting vendor help in your event.
• Offer specials to anyone that donates needed items or adopts. Create a gift basket and enter everyone’s name into the drawing that adopts a pet.
• Be sure you document all of it on your social media outlets. Keep up with the pets by occasionally posting in the coming year, how their lives are going.

Random Acts of Kindness Week: February 16th – 23rd

• Compliment everyone that walks into the salon.
• Leave sweet notes to your employees with compliments or kind words on their work ethic.
• Write notes about beauty and self-esteem on each mirror in your salon.
• Promote pay-it-forward by encouraging guests to buy a packet or upgrade tanning session for the next person that comes in.

National Hemp Day – Feb 4th
• No brainer here! Showcase all Hempz and Hemp Nation products. Bundle, display, and run specials.
• Run a contest for your staff to see who can sell the most body washes and moisturizers.
• New to CBD products? Today would be the day to showcase some of these and educate your clients. We would love for you to try Natural Native products. Ask your Account Manager for more info. We’re here to help!
• Don’t forget to post everything on your social media outlets.

Read in the Bathtub Day – Feb 9th
• Do a display with all things bath bombs, salts, fizzers-related. Ask your Account Manager about all the things we offer, UR, Primal Elements, da Bomb, CBD, etc.
• Offer add-on specials for these items with everything you sell that day.
• On social media ask your clients what their favorite book to read is for a chance to win a bath and body prize package.

Play More Cards Day – Feb 24th
• Make a purchase and they can play the “house” (salon) in a game of Black Jack or 21. If they beat the house, they get prize.
• Place a card in each room that corresponds to a prize and when the client gets done tanning, they can claim that prize or draw for an option.
• Have cards face down on the counter, for every X they spend they can flip over a card for a prize.
• You could run this all week and every time someone visits the salon or makes a purchase give them a card. The client with the best hand at the end of the week wins. Keep posting on social media what the current winning hand is.

International Tongue Twister Day – Feb 29th
• For social media, post cool tongue twisters all day and ask people to post videos of themselves trying to say it. This could be just for fun or a prize package.
• For those clients that want to play, have them draw a tongue twister from a bucket and say it 3 times. If they do it successfully, they can win X% OFF or a FREE packet.
