Tips for Dry Skin & Spray Tanning

Having trouble with dry skin & legs-1024x627your spray tans? Here are some tips that will help with that!

  • Most of us enjoy a steamy, hot shower, but that hot water is not a good idea for your dry skin. Hot showers strip your body of its natural oil barrier and you need that barrier to help trap moisture and keep your skin smooth and moist.

  • Make sure to moisturize your skin 2-3 times per day before your spray tan, using an intense moisturizer.
  • Shave at least 24 hours in advance of your spray tan appointment. The best time to shave is at the end of your shower. Your hairs are softer, making shaving easier. To protect your skin, always shave in the direction the hair is growing. Use a new razor as dull razor blades can cause irritation.
  • Harsh soaps or sulfate body washes can cause a dry skin build up. Choose a sulfate-free, sensitive skin body wash to help prevent dry skin issues.
  • 24 hours prior to spray tan, exfoliate your skin especially the drier areas (lower legs, hands and arms).

Keeping your skin moisturized throughout the duration of your spray tan is key.
