Dan Thurmon is the author of two books, a renowned speaker, and a recognized expert in delivering peak performances – on stage and in the workplace. As president of Motivation Works, Inc., he has worked with hundreds of clients and delivered thousands of presentations worldwide. Dan helps organizations and individuals implement actions plans and move confidently through transitions.

He began his performance career at eleven years old, crafting a one-man-show incorporating comedy, juggling and acrobatics. This enabled him to, at a very early age, develop a strong work ethic and learn fundamental lessons about performance excellence. Dan graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Marketing and Management. He has also extensively studied Personal Development and developed a unique methodology he teaches to audiences and clients.

Rhonda Culligan is the Owner of Body Heat Tanning in Coral Springs, Florida. She has more than 20 years in sales, customer service, training, and management experience. Rhonda is a Norvell Salon Specialist and a regular contributor and mentor for Spray Tan Artists Forum.

In 2011, she purchased her first tanning salon with an existing EFT base of less than $1000. Just after attending her first Four Seasons Expo, she decided to devote her primary focus to increasing her salon's EFT memberships. Within 3 months, her salon's EFT draft quadrupled. Four years later, her little 5 bed salon had increased their EFT base from less than $1000 to over $12,000 per month!

In 2016 she relocated and expanded her salon into a brand new state of the art facility. With the increased space, she added 5 additional Ergoline UV units and spa amenities, which include the Ergoline Red Light Beauty Angel, a Wellness Pod, HydroMassage, and the Fujimi massage chair. It is Rhonda’s core belief, that in this ever evolving industry, if you are not willing to evolve, you just might dissolve!

Allan owns GRACE Consulting which provides business effectiveness consulting, leadership development, and strategic marketing to several organizations.  He also teaches business classes to undergraduate students at Winston Salem State University and Salem College.  He is pleased to serve as marketing consultant to his wife's dance apparel store and writes about business development for local publications. He works for Forsyth Technical Community College as the Director of the Small Business Center. “Making sense of Big Data – One narb at a time” 

One of the catch phrases of the last few years has been “Big Data” which refers to a phenomenon that everyone is talking about but without great clarity as to what it really refers to.  It is indeed a large amount of data about a large number of people with great detail about each person in the data set.  Made up of numeric (structured) and descriptive (unstructured) segments, this data offers amazing opportunities to institutions who are interested in understanding and serving their constituencies in an effective way. 

With over 20 years in the academia and having worked with different kinds of institutions from local governments to non-profits, Ananda Mitra, will be sharing some of the simple ways to harness Big Data and maximize the use of the information for institutional use. 

Mitra, the inventor of the term, “narb” that describes the building blocks of Big Data as “narrative bits” will explore the opportunities before us - how to apply the notion of narbs to the structured and unstructured segments of Big Data to extract stories about individuals and groups.  These stories, in turn, offer an insight into the behavior and attitudes of people to better understand who they are, and how to serve them best.  

Using exampled from many different industries and institutions, Mitra will show the way in which narratives visualized onto narrative maps can be used to make sense the large volume of data.  Being the inventor of narbs and the having launched the Website,, Mitra will demonstrate how to use Big Data in a meaningful way to make business decisions.
