End of Year Maintenance

cleaning-thumbnail     With the end of the year fast approaching it's time to take a look forward and ensure that everything is clean, functional, and ready for the new business year. We've compiled the must read, must know, Preventative Maintenance Checklist for salon owners!

     Tips, Tricks, and Advice for making the most of the time we have left in the year, and in preparation for a successful launch into the new Year!

The Preventative Maintenance Checklist

General: Overall inspection and thorough cleaning of unit, inside and out, including vacuuming, detailing, etc.

Acrylics: Inspection for yellowing or cracking. Removal for cleaning and polishing. Check for deterioration and check UV transmission using UV meter.

Ballasts: Inspection for loose connections, frayed wires, and other failures. Along with cleaning and vacuuming out of ballast trays.

Bed Cords: Inspection for loose connections, frayed wires, and other failures.

Buck Boosters: Voltage checks to verify they are properly connected, and are wired according to current voltage at the incoming source of power. Reconfigure booster if necessary.

Cylinders: Inspection to ensure they are raising and lowering the unit properly. Adjustment and replacement as necessary (certain models).

Endcaps/Fascades: Inspection for structural damage.

Fans: Clean dust and debris from fan blades. Ensure all fans are working properly and replace as needed.

Facial Glass: Inspect for cracks or damage. Ensure they are installed properly to prevent future damage to equipment and/or tanner.

Lamps: Check lamp hours, inspect for failures, and ensure FDA compatible lamps are being utilized. Coordinate re-lamp of store during preventative maintenance when possible.

Lampholders: Inspection for loose connections, frayed wires, and other failures.

Relays: Inspection for loose connections, frayed wires, and other failures.

Starters: Inspect and replace starters as needed, upgrade to electronic version where applicable.

Timers: Inspect for poor connections or failures, test for proper working order. For stores on timer networks, inspect T-Max system to ensure proper communication, verify all network connections are secure and repair where necessary.
