Just Have Fun! Create A Happy Environment Where Customers Like to Visit.

DaffadillsCreating an environment where customers feel welcome and happy is one of the first steps at keeping them coming back through your door.

Here are a few things to consider and can be implemented or structured for any holiday or special event.

  • Offer a free month of tanning with the purchase of lotion. Consider displaying lotions that carry out the spring or Easter theme.
  • Display a basket filled with plastic eggs containing slips of paper listing prizes for your clients to draw from on each visit (prizes could include free lip balm, free upgrade, free session, free month, free bottle of xyz lotion or moisturizer, free sample packets, 10% off next purchase, 10% off apparel purchase, free sunglasses, free spray session, $25 gift certificate to be used in your store, etc.).
  • Hide lotion packettes or eyewear in large Easter eggs then display them in an Easter basket.  When customers arrive, invite them to pick an Easter Egg with the purchase of any package or lotion, or you could invite them to pick and Egg for $3-$5.
  • Cut out bunnies or Easter eggs on construction paper and put a number on one side and a “prize” on the other. This could be a % off whatever they are buying, free lip balm, free eyewear, etc. Let the customer pick a “prize’ with purchase.
  • Hide Easter eggs in the salon in various places and let clients do their own grown up version of an Easter Egg hunt. Make one a golden egg worth the most money with the best tanning package and lotion or accessory bundle.  You can use this for just your staff, too.
  • Create the atmosphere by building colorful displays with grass, candy, eggs, bunnies and baskets. You can get tons of stuff at the Dollar Store, Dollar General, or Dollar Tree type stores for very affordable prices.
  • Interact with clients on social media by having them post Easter/Sunday dinner with their families, in their dress clothes showing off their tans, and of their kids Easter Egg hunts. Remember, social is about being social, not selling, and people love to see these things. Instagram and Facebook would be my outlets of choice here. Tag the salon.
  • Play pin the tail on the bunny. Blind fold clients coming in all week and let them win a prize if they get in a certain area of the bunny tail. Make the prizes better based on how close they get.
  • Remember To:
    • Offer a risk-free opportunity for a service that will be profitable for you
    • Require a minimum purchase
    • If you don’t have many services, include a session in your highest level bed as a treat

Most importantly, have fun!  Create a happy environment that entices your customers to keep coming back.
