Fall Sales - November

As October draws to an end, it’s time to think about November.  By this point, you are no longer counting November as a lost cause, right?  Hopefully, you saw a slight surge in October and realize that with a little work, the months of Fall can be profitable for you.  We’re going to assume that you did and start prepping you for November.  So what can you do during November?  Here are a few of our best tips to build on the momentum from October.

Christmas Wish List

wishlist1Help the struggling Santa’s out this Christmas.  Pre-print index cards or pages with a cute design (Think:  Santa’s Naughty/Nice Scroll) and let your customers fill out their Christmas Wish List.  Be sure to get the contact information of their husband or children that will be shopping for them.  You can email, send a text, or even call the contact to give them the gift hints.  This can come in handy in a couple months when Valentine’s Day rolls around!

 

Spend $50 On Gifts, Get $10 For Yourself

Every holiday season, salons see their customers face a struggle.  They want to buy their usual tanning and beauty products, but they HAVE to purchase Christmas presents for friends and family.  Why don’t you pay your customers to do their shopping in your store?  With the right mix of retail products, gift certificates, and stocking stuffers, you could help them knock out a chunk from their shopping list!  When Ashley spends $50 on a tanning package and tan extender for her sister, she gets a $10 credit toward her tanning minutes that she so badly wants.  It is the perfect deal for shoppers that are not accustomed to sacrificing personal purchases for others’ gifts.

Stock Up On Gift Items

These promotional ideas are great, but you will need to have an assortment of gifts for sale to make them successful.  Tanning lotions are always a great gift, but what else can you promote?  Bath sets, luxurious tan extenders, stocking stuffers, and gift certificates are necessary to maximize on the holiday retail season.  Your Four Seasons representative can help you find a good product mix.  Also, be sure to have classy gift certificates available.  No one wants to pay $75 for a business card with handwriting on the back.

Holiday Open House

openhouseMost communities dedicate the first or second weekend of November as their “Holiday Open House Weekend.”  This is an opportunity to encourage local shopping and knock out a large chunk of that Christmas list.  It is also a great opportunity for you to roll out your new holiday promotions!

Offer refreshments and give people a reason to check out your salon.  This will be a great time for potential clients to see how clean and friendly your salon is.  (Make sure that it IS that way.)  In addition to the ideas above, offer special gift package pricing on spray tans, Fit Body Wrap sessions, tanning sessions, and red light therapy packages.
